Climate, soil, olive varieties and the knowledge of those who produce give each region its own character, and each oil an identity that begins long before it reaches the bottle.

Trás-os-Montes
Azeite de Trás-os-Montes PDO
In northeast Portugal, the olive tree follows valleys, plateaus and a climate of sharp contrasts. A region where landscape, tradition and craft give the oil a deeply Transmontana identity.
Between plateaus and mountain ranges, altitude shapes a mountain olive culture. Beira Alta is one of the two territorial expressions that form the Azeites da Beira Interior PDO.
Further south, Beira Baixa combines ranges, valleys and Mediterranean influence. A territory with a long bond to the olive tree and its own identity within Beira Interior.
In Lower Alentejo, between Moura, Serpa and Mourão, the olive tree is part of the landscape, the economy and collective memory. One of the most recognised origins in Portuguese olive-oil culture.
Varieties
Cordovil de Serpa · Galega Vulgar · Verdeal Alentejana
Between plains, hills and historic towns, olive groves follow the Upper Alentejo landscape. Galega holds a central place, joined by other traditional varieties.
